Gujarat is known all over the world for its rich and colorful heritage and a well-preserved culture which dates back to the ancient ages. Being a kaleidoscope of traditions Gujarat is also a center of pilgrimage for
Buddhists and through our Buddhist tour package of Gujarat which pans for 9 days and 8 nights you can explore some of the most vital and focal points of Buddhist pilgrimage. Drench your senses in some pure, unadulterated spirituality.
Upon your arrival in Ahmedabad, our tour representative will guide you to your allotted hotel where you will freshen up. After lunch, you will be assisted towards your sightseeing of Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum which houses a number of Indian sculptures, manuscripts, paintings, drawings among a whole plethora of other items representing the regional styles of the sub-continent. In the evening after a brief sightseeing of museum you will be made to head back to your hotel in Ahmadabad for an overnight stay.
Early in the morning post breakfast, you will be made to transfer to Shamlaji, which is located at a road journey distance of 2 hours and 20 mines. En route you will be made to stop at Taranga and Vadnagar, which is home to a Buddhist monastery and the beautiful Taranga hills. After a visit to these prime centres of pilgrimage you will be assisted to Shamlaji where before the check-in process you will be taken to Dev ni Mori – where the 3rd and 4th century remains of stupas still persists and is home to 4 carved images of Buddha on a plate, which attracts Buddhists from all over the nation.You will finally be headed back to Ahmedabad where you will be spending the night.
Post breakfast early in the morning you will be made to head on towards the beautiful city of Vadodara. Once you arrive in Vadodara you will be immediately assisted for a tour of MS University of Vadodara which is home to a number of Buddhist relics and remains which were recovered from Northern Gujarati sites and Dev ni Mori. You will be checked in to your allotted hotel before heading on to your next sightseeing site of Bharuch where you will be taken to Kadia Dungar – a group of ancient caves dating back to 1st and 2nd century AD and a majestic representation of Buddhist architecture. This site is also home to a glorious brick stupa located at the foot of the mountain.In the evening you will be made to head back to Vadodara where you will be spending the night.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be headed towards Bhavnagar where you will be made to visit the famous Talaja hills – a 320 feet high hill town which contains 30 ancient caves related to Buddhism and also contains Bodhisattva carvings. In the evening you will be made to head on towards Diu where you will be taken on a sightseeing of Sana caves – these are a collection of 62 caves which date back to 2nd-century.After a sightseeing day you will be immediately made to head on towards your allotted hotel in Diu.
Post breakfast early in the morning, you will be transferred to Junagadh which is located at a distance of 3 hours and 30 mines. Upon your arrival in Junagadh you will be taken on a brief sightseeing of the city which will include a visit to the following places: Ashokan rock edicts – which refer to the 14 different Ashokan rock edicts which are located on the Girnar Hills and Baba Pyara Caves – which are 1st and 2nd century caves which were carved out in stone to make comfortable home for Buddhists.You will then be headed back to Junagadh for an overnight stay.
Early in the morning after having your breakfast you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of the nearby tourist attractions including: Dhank Caves – which are 7th century caves and are known for its eloquent carvings which are influenced by Buddhist and Jain culture; Khambhalida Caves – 4th and 5th century consisting of 3 caves which were constructed by a branch of Buddhist tradition and is home to a number of Ashokan inscriptions.After a sightseeing excursion, you will be transferred to Jamnagar for an overnight stay.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be made to transfer to Bhuj which is located at a distance of 4 hours and 50 mines, whereupon your arrival you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay. The evening time of the day will be free for you to perform your leisurely activities.
In the morning post breakfast you will be taken to Siyot Caves – 1st-century caves and known for being bestowed with the footprints of Lord Buddha this place remains flocked by individuals looking for a spiritual upliftment.After spending your time at your excursion here you will be assisted to Narayan Sarovar – one of the holiest pilgrimage destinations for Hindus since it is believed that the holy River Saraswati had an outlet here.You will then finally be made to return back to Bhuj where you will be staying the night.
Early in the morning post your breakfast meal, you will be transferred to Ahmedabad airport/railway station from where your tour with us comes to an end and continue your journey onwards.

We were awestruck by this temple, the carving is sublime! We went Saturday morning and enjoyed listening to the temple music. It was really peaceful and calm. You can take lovely photos outside but inside just enjoy the experience, no cameras allowed.Thank you Gujarat Expert for a memorable trip!

Hi all,It was a great pleasure for us. The entire trip from Baruch to Dwaraka, Bet Dwaraka. Nageshwar, Somnath, Bhavnagar, Nishkalank Mahadev and return to Ahmedabad was very nicely planned. I go to the Statue of Unity one-day tour, tour started from Ahmedabad with Gujarat Expert, and this was a fantastic family experience. The tour was good, with comfortable transportation from Ahmedabad to the Statue of Unity. Our guide shared details about the SOU. We had enough time to explore the museum and valley of flowers.
