Hussain Doshi Gufa is an underground cave which is also known as Ahmedabad Ni gufa or cave of Ahmedabad. It is an Art Gallery, located in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat that displays the works of the most famous Indian painter M. F. Hussain. His full name is Maqbool Fida Husain. The famous architect B. V. Doshi has designed this gallery design who was the best friend of Hussain. Thus, it has been named after the two famous personalities named Hussain and Doshi. This Gufa or cave was made by the Balkrishna Doshi for M.F Hussain, a famous painter. The Cave spans across 1000m² at a total cost of 1.8 million. Hussain Doshi Gufa was constructed in 1993, offering an ideal haven for art enthusiasts. It’s akin to a celebration for anyone passionate about painting. The Hussain Doshi Gufa and art gallery located in the areas around the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology. The art gallery includes exhibition of paintings of internationally famous artist M.F. Hussain. Initially the cave was named as Hussain Doshi gufa but later it was renamed as Ahmedabad Ni Gufa.

The cave is built underground. There is a hidden stair which leads to a circular door which takes us into a cave. Even if it is cave it is a designed to exhibit paintings and sculptures of artist. , the cave has curved dome structure and don’t have any straight wall. The entire design of the cave is very attractive and eye-catching. The domes are made up of full and half circle shape. When famous painter M.F Husain was at visits to Ahmedabad he thought about the house where he can display his work in Ahmedabad and then he’s one of the best friends named Doshi promises his to create such a wonderful and unique place for his quality work exhibition. M.F Husain used to art on walls and paint with bold strokes and beautiful bright colours. His artwork shows human and animal figures. M.F Hussain often includes metal sculptures in his work.
